Homework: Selfie to print out as black and white A4 image using the concept of chiaroscuro
This week drawing up the image in charcoal on canvas exploring tonal shapes and values.

This week: Acrylic monotonal painting of the selfie image, using paint as a drawing material over the charcoal investment drawing of the week before.
WEEK 5
Collage and charcoal
Deconstructing the photographic selfie image and rearranging it to create an abstraction which will then be redrawn as an experimental image in charcoal on A3 paper.
WEEK 6
Linocut Printmaking

The Landscape after Harry Stooshinoff
Participants will work from a Stooshinoff printout to develop an A5 drawing composition using various mark making techniques: hatching, stippling, shading.
Tracing and transferring drawing compositions onto the lino in preparation for cutting.

Learning how to cut the lino in preparation for printing

Printing the linocut as monotonal compositions
